A patient, conversational tech helper inspired by being the unofficial support person for family. The first version is a working chatbot; I’m improving the experience one step at a time.

Learning Out Loud.

I’m learning AI engineering and software development by building things that matter to me. The useful discoveries, mistakes, and decisions belong here too.

Currently learning

I'm working through an LLM engineering course covering Python, APIs, models, RAG, agents, and the pieces that go into building real AI applications.

I started because I've been fascinated by AI for years, but something has changed recently. The tools are making programming and building more accessible to people who may have ideas without coming from a traditional software development background. I wanted to see what that could unlock for me.

What I didn't expect was how quickly learning would turn into building. Instead of only completing the course projects, I've started creating my own and bringing new things I learn back into them. Somewhere along the way, I've also started reconsidering something I never really thought about myself before: maybe I'm creative after all.

I'm still at the beginning. Mostly, I want to keep following this and find out what I'm capable of building.

Hi, I’m Rudy.

I work in IT at a research university, where technology has to help real people do important work. Outside of that, I’m developing my skills in software and AI, with a long term goal of creating useful products of my own.
